The University of the Holy Land has merged into Jerusalem Seminary. Beginning with the 2026–2027 academic year, the two institutions operate as one, under the Jerusalem Seminary name, at 55 HaNevi’im Street in the heart of Jerusalem.
UHL’s accredited graduate programs continue as the School of Graduate Studies of Jerusalem Seminary. Current students will complete their degrees within the combined institution, and UHL faculty have been invited to continue their teaching. The University of the Holy Land name will be retained for Jerusalem Seminary’s Korean-language programs.
Stephen and Claire Pfann founded the University of the Holy Land in 1986 and gave forty years to a single conviction: that Scripture is best understood in the Land that produced it, studied seriously, in its languages, alongside Jewish and Christian scholars. Dr. Stephen Pfann helped pioneer Land of Israel studies and the study of Qumran and the Dead Sea Scrolls. Dr. Claire Pfann taught, led, and shaped the school beside him for its entire history.
The Stephen and Claire Pfann Memorial Scholarship Fund carries their work into the next generation of students. Every gift sends a student to study in the Land, and that is how their work continues.
Gifts are tax-deductible in the USA through Our Common Road, UHL’s sister 501(c)(3), founded by the Pfanns in 2018. EIN 83-1470601. Questions: friends@uhl.ac
Admissions, programs, faculty, transcripts, and transcript requests are all handled by Jerusalem Seminary. If you are a prospective student, a current UHL student, or an alum with a question about your record, this is where to go.
